The Country Channel Provides programming relevant to current issues and items of interest within the countryside, including news items, farming, the environment, transport, sports, entertainment and country living.

The Country Channel makes use of the explosion in broadband uptake and technical improvements in web based TV, it launched in a preview format on May 1 and went live on June 9th 2006. So if you have a passion for the outdoors and live, work or play in the country then join countrychannel.tv and be a part of the first channel of its kind for countryside viewers.

Championed by some famous faces associated with country matters such as
Tony Francis and Wendy Nelson, both of ITV’s Heart of the Country; Graeme Garden, writer and broadcaster. Lucinda Green, former Olympic Medallist 3 Day Event Rider and Adam Henson of BBC TV’s Countryfile and the Cotswold farm Park. BBC TV’s Breakfast Presenter Rob Bonnet is a Country Channel champion. He says: “This is the first on-line TV service for a general audience and it will be a hit with both those who live in the country, and those with a keen interest in the countryside.”

 

The Channel is now available on Sky Channel 167 & 168 - InformationTV three times a week.
